    Caredact for fostering agencies

AI for fostering records, without the child’s identity going with them.

An independent fostering agency handles some of the most sensitive records in the sector: children placed away from home, birth family details, court context, health and education information, and the carers’ own personal details.

Caredact lets supervising social workers and, where you choose, foster carers use AI for reports and correspondence. Every identifying detail is replaced before the text reaches the AI and restored when the document is exported.

14-day trial. No card. Data stays in the UK.

    What is in your records

The identifiers Caredact removes before the AI sees a word.

Each one becomes a labelled placeholder such as [PERSON_1] or [NHS_NUMBER_1]. The writer sees every detection highlighted before anything is sent.

    Where it fits

Three jobs it does on day one.

    1. 1

      Supervision and carer review reports

Draft the report from your notes with the AI, with names and references replaced. Export with the details restored for the file.

    2. 2

      Foster carer daily records

Carers can turn rough notes into clear records without pasting a child’s identity into a chatbot on their own phone.

    3. 3

      Placement matching and referral summaries

Summarise long referral packs quickly. The AI sees a child described by placeholders, never by name.

For your regulator and your DPO

What you can show an inspector.

    • An audit trail showing what was anonymised, by whom and when.
    • A review screen before anything is sent, so professional judgement stays in the loop.
    • A Data Processing Agreement with the agency, covering carers you add as users.
    • Everything processed and stored in the UK. Placeholder maps deleted when a document is finished.

    Questions from fostering agencies

    Asked before, answered here.

More on the main FAQ, or ask us.

Can foster carers use it as well as staff?

Yes. On the Provider plan you decide who has an account. Carers get the same paste, review, export flow, and the agency sees the audit trail.

Does it recognise sibling groups and relationships?

Names are replaced with numbered placeholders, so a document about two siblings keeps them distinct as [PERSON_1] and [PERSON_2]. The AI can still write coherently about both without knowing who they are.

We already have a data protection policy. Why a tool?

Because policies are broken by convenience. If staff can get a report written faster with a chatbot, some will. Caredact makes the compliant route the quick one.
